Capstone Technical Support Model C60 v4.50 Software Release

All Capstone Model C60 MicroTurbine systems, including Industrial and ICHP systems.


Improvements incorporated in Model C60 software version 4.50 are summarized as follows:

1. Incorporated software compatibility for the Woodward Valve Controller (UFCB) with existing engine components.

2. Added generator power on the first line of the display panel menu selection. The second line adds “OK” or FLT status before the turbine number. If no fault is present, “OK” will appear. If any fault with severity level greater than “1” is present, “FLT” will display:

3. Incorporated Dual Mode Fast Transfer capability, which enables the system to fast transfer between Stand Alone (SA) and Grid Connect (GC) operation without shutting down using Dual Mode operation with the DMC connected (see Capstone Fast Transfer Application Guide 480011) for additional details.

a. Transfer from GC to SA operation is conducted automatically after the detection of the loss of the grid.

b. Transfer from SA to GC operation depends on the following system settings:

i. When the system is running in SA Load state, recovery of the grid will make the system transfer to SA recharge state after a one minute forced SA load operation.

ii. If GC Enable mode is set as AUTO, the system starts to check the grid reconnection condition after entering SA Recharge state. The grid must be in good condition for at least of five minutes before the system can transfer from SA Recharge state to GC Load state.

iii. If the system’s GC Enable mode is set as MANUAL, the system will stay in SA Recharge state and a new user Start command is required to start the system in GC operation. If the system does not receive a user Start command within two hours, the system will transfer from SA recharge to SA Cooldown state.
