Subject: Back Pressure Limit Increased to eight inches H2O Affected: CapstoneModel330MicroTurbines
Abstract: The maximum allowable back pressure for Capstone MicroTurbines is eight inches H2O.
It is acceptable to install and operate Capstone Model 330 MicroTurbines up to a maximum exhaust back pressure of eight inches H2O at rated full load. The full load exhaust flow and temperature are unchanged. Eight inches H2O back pressure is not acceptable at part load conditions. For example, an acceptable heat recovery system would have a maximum back pressure at full load of eight inches H2O and act as a fixed orifice (reduced back pressure at reduced flow, where the back pressure is approximately reduced by the ratio of the square of the flow).
No action required.
